Pier Peer at Shelton Yacht Club

Explore the estuary; from tiny plankton, to animals living on the docks and deep below. Take a peak at the wonderful world of plankton with our microscopes. Underwater lights attract spectacular estuary creatures for you to safely scoop up and observe. Volunteer naturalists help you identify and learn more about what you’ve found. Get the chance to see into the depths with our underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV).

Registration Policies and Event Info:

**PREREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED** due to the limited capacity of the dock.

Adults (Ages 13 and older) - FREE

Children (Ages 12 and younger) - FREE

**Children must wear life jackets during this event and be accompanied by an adult. There must be at least one adult per two children to ensure supervision and safety. This event involves some contact with deep water and is not recommended for children under 6 years old. Bring your own lifejacket if you can, otherwise we have some to borrow.

Attire/Gear - We highly recommend that each participant bring their own flashlight! Wear non-slip shoes as the dock can be slippery and dress for the weather. Not a bad idea for those with children to have spare clothes and towel in the car.

Cancellation - We reserve the right to cancel Pier Peer due to low registration (under 8 participants) or bad weather. In the case of above cancellations, the Estuarium will make every effort to reschedule.

Liability Waiver - All participants must sign a liability waiver that will be provided in the registration process.
